‘THE AGREEMENT’ – ARTWORK FUNDRAISING
Artist Daya Heller has an amazing piece which is seeking funding to bring it to life in the Tankwa. The sculptures form an installation of two slightly larger than life figures. one man and one woman. archetypes. facing each other. their skeletons are revealed. their faces are masks. between them is a biological heart on an arrow. They stand on steel circles raised off the ground. Their outer bodies are modelled in cement, their skeletons are worked in welded steel and their faces are sculpted in wax and cast in bronze.
Book one of 60 original signed photos of the completed artwork in its glory in the tankwa, for R100 each, and contribute to raising the remaining funds needed for The Agreement’s realisation…

RAINBOW BIKINI CAR WASH FUNDRAISER
Summers almost gone but Critical Tits is gonna turn up the heat one last time before we pack away our teeny weeny bikinis in exchange for full length coats!
There’ll be a bunch of hot chicks in bikinis getting soapy and wet while waxing on and off any vehicle that’s a little dirty and needs a good wash down! Pierre-Estienne will be spinning ‘carwash’ songs to keep the girls feeling frisky while they lather roaring steel engines into spanky and sparkly glory!
Bring any mode of transport that needs a good wash down to the parking lot behind &Union, sit in you car for the full experience or relax at &Union taking in the great view of the honeys lathering down your roaring steel engine/ bike/ bicycle. Did someone say Rainbow? Artist Michael Elion will be making a real rainbow above the girls to frolic in as they play in the bubbles.
What would this fantasy be without beer? Complete the picture with a cold one from &Union!!
Where: Parking lot on Buitengrac
When: April 13, 12 midday – 6pm
FLOW ARTS COMMUNE WEEKLY FIRE JAMMING FUNDRAISER
The Flow Arts Community of AfrikaBurn, are a merry group of tricksters, spinners, hoopers, flarers and dancers who love to entertain. So much so, that we are organising a multi-faceted theme camp for AfrikaBurn 2013, the Flow Arts Commune, that aims to share our love for all things manipulated with our fellow burners. Unfortunately, paraffin, wood, costumes, performance props, and building materials are expensive nowadays and so we must try our hands at busking in order to raise funds for our camp. This endeavour brings us to Trenchtown (ye olde Cool Runnings), Observatory, Cape Town, every Saturday night for the foreseeable future. Entrance is free, but donations are encouraged. Come and join us for nights of fantastical fire that promise to inspire and perhaps entice a few of your spare coins into our hat. All fellow fire dancers are welcome to jam with us, although there will be some safety/environmental guidelines to adhere to.
WHEN: Every Saturday (except for when we’re at the burn), 8 – 10pm
WHERE: Trenchtown, corner of Lower Main Rd and Station Rd, Observatory.
