Burning Barriers Africa project

Did you know that the African continent has over 3000 ethnic groups and 2000 languages?

Did you also know that just about 1% of tickets bought for AfrikaBurn are by Africans outside of South Africa? The large majority (85%) are bought by South Africans and Europeans.

We have started the Burning Barriers project to emphasise the AFRICA in AfrikaBurn, hoping to eliminate some of the barriers preventing hesitant new or returning burners from coming to the event in 2025. Our aim is not only to increase the variety in people, music and offerings but also to facilitate greater integration into the event and beyond.

They are plenty of exciting ways to get involved which are detailed in our information booklet: https://publuu.com/flip-book/690808/1536888

Individuals can sign up here: https://forms.gle/9Fbp6Cdwt1XwuEFh9

For theme camps, sound cars, art pieces and organisations you can email us at: [email protected]

We would love to co-create this with you all and incorporate the rich tapestry of the continent into our special annual event.

P.S To be clear, we are separate from the wonderful Anathi Program. We do not offer financial assistance or subsidised tickets.
