Call for (volunteer) Non Executive Directors – Did you ask for the keys, yet?

Stepping up to be a Non Executive Director is a lot like being the designated driver of a mutant vehicle in Tankwa Town. This whole-lotta-world-changing fun needs some modicum of Civic Responsibility to ensure that we continue to successfully navigate our way between cosmos and chaos.

Sitting in the hot seat requires you to keep your eyes on the road and your hands upon the wheel. You’ll need your foot on the gas, know when to brake, and how best to swerve a Stofadil. You’ll also need patience and grace negotiating speed bumps, pot-holes, and the wildlife on your periphery, because this ride ain’t the Dakar rally, and SatNav won’t save you.

Licence, please?

Non Executive Directors steer the strategic sphere of the organisation and play a pivotal role ensuring the philosophical rubber hits the dirt road towards our shared horizon. The organisation is seeking individuals with experience and expertise in the following areas:

  • Cultural Activism
  • Environmental & Land Management
  • Finance
  • Fundraising
  • Information Technology
  • Law

  • Previous non profit board experience essential
  • Independence
  • Strong ethics
  • Willingness to challenge
  • Coaching ability
  • Be self-reflective
  • Curiosity
  • Patience
  • Capability
  • An understanding of South Africa’s cultural environment and/ or pan African view
  • Willing and able to proactively engage with compliance requirements of being a NED
