Have you been considering stepping up to serve our community? Well, here’s your chance – the nominations window for Non-Executive Directors has been extended until the close of business on Thursday 27 February.
The board members in this role play the role of helping to steer our dusty ship and organisation into the future? To ensure solid hands are on deck Afrika Burns Creative Projects NPC (that’s our organisation’s official, legal, name) is seeking highly-dedicated individuals to join its Board of Directors in 2020.
Directors are the legal face of AfrikaBurn and are directly responsible for the long-term sustainability of our event and the organisation’s broader objectives. Suitable candidates are based in Cape Town, able to meet weekly, and have an estimated 6 days per month to attend to AfrikaBurn business.

Nominations / applications should include:
– the completed questionnaire
– the applicant’s CV
– a letter of motivation from the person being put forward
– a letter of endorsement from someone in our community (this can be from anyone, but it provides context if this is from a past (or present) Member or Director, or anyone who has been involved in AfrikaBurn in the past (or present), as part of the operations team, as a portfolio volunteer or as part of a Collective / creative crew.
Candidates will be invited to be interviewed in the First week of March, and informed about the outcome by the end of March 2020. Thereafter, a shadowing period with the current Board will commence until coming to office in June 2020. Non-executive Directors are appointed for three years as per the organisation MOI.
