2022 AfrikaBurn MOOP Map

Moop Map 2022

You’ve all been waiting with bokashi baited breath for the 2022 MOOP Map, and here it is in all its glory. Word on the streets of Tankwa Town was that MOOP was a huge challenge for a lot of virgin camps and participants this year, and while we’d love the whole MOOP map to be green there are still a few bits of orange and red that we can definitely improve upon in 2023.

This year, we decided to take all the camp numbers out of the map, to minimise the pitch fork activity directed at specific theme camps or calling out of individuals … You know where you camped, you know if you cleaned up after yourself, you know what to do next year. Remember, nobody is perfect and it’s our collective job as citizens of Tankwa Town to help the people around us understand the concept of MOOP and why we do what we do in the dust.

There’s also no map marker for the infamous Binnekring Boskak … Unfortunately a number of participants in 2022 decided that our artworks could also double as porta-potties, which was hugely upsetting – especially for the poor person who had to pick it up. Next year, please make sure that you drop the kids off at the pool before heading out into the night to avoid getting caught short, we’d really appreciate it.

A huge thanks to: Kettles Doyle, Sonica Kirsten, Bongo Doyle, Antonia Cronje, Cathy Cooksley and Kristy Derbyshire for putting all the information and maps together.
